History:
In 1999, the Lord gave directions for a Christian school on the
Taieri. The school started with provisional registration in February 2000
with 8 pupils, increasing to 30. The first Education Review Office report rated the school
as exceptional efficient, and registration was granted that year. The
second ERO report in 2004 endorsed the first. ERO reports can be reviewed on the Ministry of education website. The third ERO report is due 2007.
The school continues to excel in developing God's gifts in the pupils,
such that those leaving for high school have won academic prizes in
their first year.
International Students:
Armana Christian School is accepted by the Ministry of Education as signatory to the New Zealand Code of Practice for Pastoral Care of International Students as established under section 28f of the Education Act 1989 as having met the qualifying standards as set out in the code. In short, Armana is approved by the New Zealand Government to educate international students.
Our School
Emblem:
‘Amana’ in Hebrew means ‘truth and integrity’.
The emblem is in the shape of a banner from the account of the defeat
of the Amalekites during the exodus (Exodus 17:8-16). The cross superimposed
on Saddle Hill symbolizes the vision of the school to serve in the Taieri
area. Burgundy symbolises the shed blood of Christ; green, new life;
and white, purity and cleansing that comes from faith in Jesus Christ,
our Redeemer.
Resource
Centre:
It is a policy of the school to provide resources for Christian education
in churches, home schooling, Sunday Schools, and Religious Education
(Bible in Schools) classes. You are welcome to borrow your requirements
free of charge.
